Drum magnet

Drum magnets are designed for the continuous extraction of ferrous materials from a product being fed uniformly on to the face of the drum shell. As the material is fed onto the drum, ferrous materials are extracted and are firmly held to the drum shell by the magnetic separator until they move away from the magnets influence and discharge, leaving any non-ferrous materials to free fall.
The drum magnet are suitable for processing bulk product flows containing lots of large or sharp pieces of iron, such as scrap, glass or rubble. In these cases the conveyor belt or suspension magnet is unsuitable due to the high rate of belt wear.
The drum magnet are commonly used in metal processors and presence of as pre-separator at the beginning of the processing line, such as scrap-vehicle and waste shredders, and removing the iron directly from the shredded product in the process. Its design aim is to separate the large pieces of iron from the main product flow and prevent the follow processing steps from damage or cause other problem.

    Installation:
    Drum magnets are typically installed in a vertical position, with the drum supported by a frame. They can be installed in a variety of locations, such as in-line with a conveyor or in a chute. They can be designed to fit any standard conveyor belt width or chute size.
    Working principle: The drum magnet works on the principle of magnetism. As material flows through the drum, the magnetic particles are attracted to the surface of the drum and held there as the drum rotates. Non-magnetic particles continue on their path and exit the system.
    Struction: The drum magnet is a 180 degree stationary permanent magnet system, comprised of standard permanent Magnets (Ferrite or Rare Earth NdFeB).
    If product flow mix in plenty of fine ferromagnetic content and the product flow depth is thick, customer require a better level of magnetic separation, drum magnet can be constructed using the rare earth material(NdFeB magnet), the rare earth material type magnet drum are capable of extracting fine ferromagnetic.
    And there is not this absorb ablity for the ferrite magnet type drum magnet.
    The drum magnet shell is made of a wear-resistant material(robust mild steel or stainless steel) due to the presence of large or sharp pieces irons.
